Casting a magic circle is like one of the most
important things a witch needs to know.
What casting a circle does is protects you from
thing on the astral plain and helps to contain the energy you rise when
spell casting.
You should cast a circle before most magical
work (anything major and if you want to give your little spells a big boost,
and always when you are still learning!). Here are the basics that
i got off the internet, you can also find this and several variations in
just about any witchy book.
Prepare a space large enough to do your work in
Walk does (clockwize) around the circle holding your dominate
hand out in front of you. Visualize the energy pouring out of you on the
ground... walk the circle 3 times
Walk to each quarter (north, east, south, and west). Starting
at the North and say:
"I hail to thee *Dragons of
the (N,E,S,W) Element of (earth, air, fire,
water) to come to this holy place and
bind it with your power i do ask thee to protect this
circle of the God and Goddess So mote it be"
After you have called quarters... move to the center of your
circle and say:
"I conjure thee, Oh great circle
of power So that you may be for me a
boundary between the world of men and the realm of the mighty
spirits a meeting place of perfect love,
peace, trust, and joy containing the power i will
raise within I have called upon the *Dragons
of the North, East, South, and West to aid me in this construction in the name of the lord and
the lady Thus i do conjure thee, Oh great
circle of power"
Raise your hand from above your head and pound it on the
ground saying:
"As above, so below. This circle is sealed"
Go ahead and start your magic making =)
** I like to call dragons to my quarters, Silver Raven
Wolf prefers Angels, some like the Watchtowers, or the Guardians... after
you get further into the craft and do a little research you will find the
one that works best for you.**
To Close your Circle
ok... it is very very bad to just walk out of
a circle without closing it... this is something that should always, always
be done. When ever your finished with you magic work, please close
your circle... it is not good to just leave all that energy there to slowly
disappear into nothing... also you need to dismiss your quarters, if not
they may not wish to help you anymore...
Here is an easy way to close your circle.
Walk to your quarters in the reverse order you called them
(West to North)... and say:
"Dragons of the (W,S,E,N), Element
of (Water, Fire, Air, Earth) Thank you for your participation
in this ritual. Go if you must, stay if you
like, Hail and Fair well."
Move Windershins (counter-clockwise) around the circle drawing
the energy back into you. When you reach the beginning, pound on
the ground and say:
"This circle is open, but never
broken. So mote it be! We are the people, we are the
power, and we are the change. Merry meet and Merry part. until we merry meet again."
And there you have it... it's really not that hard, and there
are many other ways to do it.. this is just the one i prefer to use, please
