The Light I See Across the White Sea
by Nate Neumann

All day i wander through the sheets of an ice covered hell
Wind stinging my face, bleeding scars, hardening the shell
The more i wander, the more i dream of your face
Right in front of my eyes, then vanishes with no trace
The coldness that engulfs my being, not letting anyone through
Nothing can penetrate the coldness, except for the fire burning within you
I long for your lips burning kiss, the warmth that comes with your touch
As i'm walking through the frozen mist; i think sometimes this dream seems to much
Wandering aimlessly across this abominable pit
my toes are tingling and my ears have become frost bit
I'm searching for your everlasting flame
burning brighter and higher; i hear you calling my name
In the direction, towards your love's warmth, i will travel
despite the bitterness of the cold, your mysteries i can unravel
Each second of our separation, feeds the hunger of my desire
When i reach the destination, tired, beaten, and cold
Will you let me throw away this shell, and stand warm beside your fire
And for this gracious gift, i'll give you all that i am for eternity
to have and to hold
for no longer am i cold.
